Ninja versus Ninja

Publisher: Out of the Box

Recommended ages: 8+

Number of players: 2+

Ninja versus Ninja Rules:

Ninja versus Ninja is a fun game right from the start. Heck with rules! The little Ninja figures provided a good 20 minutes of entertainment before the rules even got looked at.

Once you read the rules, you discover that you are in charge of a group of Ninja with 2 basic goals: defend your dojo and sneak into your opponent’s dojo. You can only send one Ninja at a time on a mission and they can only be out of your dojo for so long before being defeated. The further you can venture into your opponent’s dojo AND safely return, the more points you get.

The recommended age of 8+ seemed right on-par with our family. While I am sure my son will be able to play at some point before 8, he is too young to play by himself at 4. This created the perfect opportunity for TEAM Ninja vs. Ninja. He was playing; I was merely a strategic advisor. He did enjoy playing the game even with help.

My daughter enjoys the game a lot and has a standard command she issues to her Ninja when she loses: “Back to your dojang! You need more training!” (dojang is the Tae Kwon Do version of dojo)

My daughter’s score: thumb up

My son’s score: thumb up (when playing team Ninja)

My score: 9 points
